One of hsi first writing credits was for the TV and radio commercial theme for the Joon Rhee self-defense studios. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\n\nIn 1968, the still-teenage Lofgren was playing with his DC-based band Grin at the Cellar Door, where he met Neil Young, which led to a record deal for Grin and ultimately a role in Young's Crazy Horse collective.  His association witgh Young has continued into the 2020's. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\n\nIn addition to sesison work and touring, Lofgren released a series of solo albums beginning in 1974, and from 1984-1989 was lead guitarist in the E Street Band.
