Emmylou Harris grew up in DC's Virginia suburbs, and returned to the area when young single motherhood temporarily derailed her budding career as a singer-songwriter. After a few years performing to local acclaim, Harris formed a musical partnership with country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons, and a star was born.
"Elite Hotel" was Harris' second solo LP, drawing an all star cast into her developing country-fusion odyssey, which endures to this day.
