Hilton C. Felton, Jr. moved to Washington as a teenager in 1965 to play organ at Hughes Memorial UMC in Northeast.  Arriving along with the resurgent national popularity of the soul-jazz and Stax sounds, Felton's skill and flair on the organ soon made him a fixture on the local nightclub circuit.

In the 1970's, Felton joined Chuck Brown's Soul Searchers, led groups called Eternal Equinox and The Three Of Us, and founded the Hilton's Concept record label, releasing a dozen or so LPs in the 1970s and 1980s.

A versatile pianist, Hammond organist, and songwriter, Felton toured, gigged, and recorded with a variety of artists in DC and abroad, settling in the 1990s into a long-running residency at Kinkead's.  He passed away in 2007.

Hilton Felton's music has become treasured on the rare collector's market, and thankfully the attention has led to some finely-crafted re-issues of his wonderful DC releases.
