504 Plan captures the essence of a new wave of politically charged hardcore from Washington, D.C. This band, composed entirely of neurodivergent high school students with 504 Plans for educational accommodations, takes its name from this support system. Their music serves as a powerful critique of the systemic failures that affect students like them.
This 12" vinyl release is split between two sides: Side A features a high-energy live performance at DC9, while Side B includes their studio EP, "To Think or Not to Think", recorded with noted producer Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios. Together, these sides showcase the band's raw energy in live performance, paired with a thoughtful and intentional message in their sound.
The group boldly addresses pressing social issues in their lyrics, tackling topics ranging from youth overmedication to voter suppression and the irony of inclusionary school policies that often promote conformity. With gritty guitars, pounding drums, and visceral vocals, 504 Plan channels classic hardcore while offering a fresh perspective.
Limited to just 200 copies on black vinyl.
