4th Street Orchestra was but one early moniker for UK roots, dub, and lovers rock maven Dennis Bovell's musical collective--also known as Matumbi, and later the Dub Band. "Orchestra" is apt, since they seemed to provide symphonic accompaniment to a whole musical subculture, winding through instrumental, dub, and vocal movements.
