Xstory tells the history of Xterminator, the Jamaican label of producer Philip "Fatis" Burrell. From the 80s to the present day, Fatis productions combine the militant moralism of deep roots with the immediacy and rhythmic insistence of dancehall. In so doing, the label groomed some of the biggest roots stars of the dancehall era, while also a haven for golden age roots practitioners.
Fatis' studio provided an early pipeline of Jamaican recordings for Doctor Dread's DC-based RAS Records, which shared the mission of spreading reggae's spiritual message in a digital age.
