More than a foundational ska orchestra, the Skatalites were then as now a who's-who of Jamaica's post-independence musical and cultural explosion. Its surviving members and a few invited guests reunited in the mid-70s for some instrumental sessions at Aquarius and Black Ark Studios, the temporal and technical heart of the roots-and-dub era. The resulting recordings included this LP and its King Tubby-mixed dub companion "Herb Dub Collie Dub".
