A generally overlooked chapter in the Upsetter canon, in part due to its vanishing rarity. It also fell between two distinct periods of revolutionary sonic creativity for Lee Perry and the Upsetter crew--their skinhead-reggae breakthrough and early work with Bob Marley and the Wailers on one hand, and the game-changing DIY atmospherics that would later emanate from the fully built-out Black Ark Studio on the other.
But never mind the disc's status as a kind of interstitial musical scrapbook. The sequence of relatively understated DJ and early-dub mixes makes for an irresistible listen, plain and simple. What a treat to have a high-quality new edition of this scarce classic in print.
