DC native Leo Parker was the first baritone saxophonist on the bebop scene and gained prominence in Billy Eckstine’s band as a member of the “Unholy Four” saxophone section that also included Sonny Stitt, Dexter Gordon, and Gene Ammons in the mid-1940s. Personal troubles sidelined Parker in the 1950s, but in 1961 he made a comeback on Blue Note when he recorded two excellent sessions—"Let Me Tell You ‘Bout It" and "Rollin’ With Leo".
This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at Record Technology Inc. (RTI), and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.
