The 1958 LP "Folksongs and Instrumentals With Guitar" and this compilation provide treasured bookends to Elizabeth Cotten's time in Washington, DC as a working musician and recording artist. Upon the release of "Shake Sugaree", Cotten had earned enough to leave the Seeger home with her family and pursue her music career independently.
