YahZarah is a DC native and Duke Ellington alum who established herself in the music industry as a supporting vocalist, both in the studio and on tour, with a long and diverse list of artists. These include Erykah Badu, Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Little Steven, Elvis Costello, and Raheem DeVaughn.
Locally, YahZarah was part of Marcus Johnson's Three Keys collective, through which she released her excellent solo record "Blackstar", the title of which nods to her Ghanaian heritage.
From there she jumped to the Foreign Exchange Music Group, another locally-focused touring and recording collective, through which she released two more albums, including The Ballad Of Purple Saint James.
YahZarah continues to perform and record, and currently serves as the DC representative to the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
