A native of DC, raised in Montgomery County and hailing from Prince George’s, Wale's early immersion in and love of Go-Go music shaped his unique and innovative brand of Hip Hop. Since the mid-2000s, when Wale’s mixtapes and radio cuts first started blowing up on local, internet, and satellite radio, he has recorded seven major-label LPs along with countless singles and videos. He’s won two BET Awards and a Soul Train Award.
